instance a British Ship of war at Nan King would send its

mail for another such ship at Kiu Kiang to the Chinese Post

Office at Nan King. That office would transmit it by first

opportunity to the Chinese Post Office at Kiu Kiang whence

it would be delivered to the ship for which it was intend-

-ed.
